Default Best STREET Shocks? Looking for a SOFT Ride

Best STREET Shocks? Looking for a SOFT Ride.

My ride is a 4DR JK unlimited sport 2007.

I have a 2WD I use as a daily driver of course I don't do any off-roading. (Yes Jeep makes a 2WD JKU)

The crap stock shocks are shot.

I don't have a lift or even plan on lifting my Jeep.

What are the BEST shocks to buy for STREET driving (Not off-road)?

I'm only looking for the shock that works best on the STREET and gives the SMOOTHEST and SOFTEST bump absorbing ride!!!!!!

Thanks for looking

I have Elka shocks now and they work pretty well. I had Fabtechs before and wasn't too thrilled with them.

This is a tough question becuase ride is personal preference. I'd consider an inexpensive adjustable shock like the MX-6 or Ranchos. Both allow you to select your desired balance of ride and rebound without buying more shocks, or manually re-valving.

There are much more expensive adjustables as well if you have deeper pockets. I was extremely happy with my Walker Evans adjustable remote-reserviors, but they are a little pricy...

You should consider your springs as well. I didn't do a lot of research before I bought my lift kit and the springs are killing me.

So what springs would you recommend?

How does the softness rating work?

I heard the EVO plush springs are pretty good.

Stock springs will give you the softest ride. You can go with stock Rubicon shocks or upgrade to something like OME's or Bilstein 5100s. Make sure your tire pressure is 30 psi or less.

I just put on the Old Man Emu sport shocks and they are the softest shocks I've ever had. I don't know if they come in stock length. You can compress them by hand pretty easy.
Before that I was running Rubicon Express shocks that were fairly stiff and I wasn't impressed with them but they were cheap.
I assume you are keeping the stock springs.

Those shocks are made for off-road conditions and to work with lifts only. My jeep is light compared to heaver modified Jeeps with 4WD and Bumpers etc.
