Best Top Safari Top
Just a friendly note to all that have 2 door JK's and are interested in buying the safari top from Bestop.
Mine is a week and a half old and been driven with installed three times. On the third trip, I was minding my own business driving down the road with a little wind. The rear portion of the safari top begins to flap a little. I think to myself, hmmm, that was a pretty thin nylon strap that is holding the top down using the rear seat belt (the metal stud bolted onto the roll bar). Well, the cheap nylon webbing used did exactly what is was supposed to do. Chafe through and snap!! Now I cannot see what is behind me and have nowhere to pull over. For 100.00 dollars you should think that it would last for more than two weeks! So my advice to those who want a safari top, find one with a design that will actually work:thumbsup: |

I had the same problem with my safari top flapping. It was getting bad every-time I had to cross the bay. I went to home depot, bought a thin metal rod. I made a small cut in the overlap seam at the very end where the straps go to the rear seat belt. I slide the rod in and it now zero flapping. Works even at highway speed while very little moment at all.

Hopefully they will replace the broken one. |
I think I found a mesh safari top from Vertically Driven Products called the KOOLBREEZE. Not sure how much it is.
