Default Black Grill

Thinking about this mod. Painting the front grill flat black. What's you opinion?

Thanks.

I like it, I would personally wait until the paints beat up..

But you would probley be the first I've seen do this on a JK..

its common on the TJ's.

I'm torn between the stock and the blk. In one way it looks rugged, but in another way it looks, I don't know maybe unfinished?

Default Grill paint

I love the red too much to mask over it, but if you do I think you should at least wait.

I've mentioned in other threads that I was considering similar... except instead of flat (or gloss) black, I would go with a hematite/gunmetal finish (i.e. cheap "blacked-out chrome" effect). I like the idea, but the picture you posted does look a little unfinished - maybe it's just the angle and the shadow, though.

To me it looks a little strange, maybe because the JK is so much wider than the TJ. I think some type of clear spray guard if you want to protect it from bugs.
