I just did mine this weekend. Plasti-dipped, cheap and easy.

i bedlined my grill. Did the hinges and the side steps at the same time. Spray on bedliner. Pretty cheap and the textured finish looks great. At least i know it will hold up to a few highway rocks!

One of the first mods I did to both of my Jeeps. Bedlined, then painted over with ultra flat black. Here's the current one:
