Bolt on improved MPG's
 

So about a week ago I had some mechs at the unit install Fitch Fuel Catalyst. At first I thought it was total bullsh*t that this bolt on thing could improve my MPG's, but since I drive about 100 miles round trip a day and with gas prices already burning my money I thought F*ck it. Normally I was getting about 16 mpgs around the city and 19 on the highway. Thanks to Tropical Storm FAY I haven't been to work in four days so this is only city driving but I think it works, I get about 26 mpgs on the dash. I have not changed my driving style, I take off at lights and brake hard. Anyone else had any luck or is the dash wrong.

I have to admit that I am way too skeptical, so you think you could post again in about 30 days? That is just WAY to much difference to make sense... :eek2:

I will keep track of my MPG's, I have not filled up and done the math yet, I just going off the dash right now. But I will run it down and then get a fresh set of numbers. I don't know how it works. I got under there and it looks like it connect between the fuel tank and the engine, but I am no Mech so dont quote me.

Definitely need fresh numbers as their website says 1-2.5 mpg improvement. Not enough for me topay $196.:thinking:

Q. How does the catalyst work?
Refineries cannot remove many poorly performing molecules to make a more ideal fuel. In addition, once fuel leaves the refinery or is stored it is subject to attack by oxygen, ozone, and microorganisms (bacteria, yeast, and mold) that grow in the fuel. All these processes degrade the fuel to make a poorer product that prevents engines from performing at optimum levels. The Fitch Fuel Catalyst reformulates fuel prior to combustion on board the vehicle, preventing oxygen and most diseases from attacking the fuel and reversing any degradation that may have occurred prior to the fuel being introduced to the vehicle. The Fitch Fuel Catalyst assists the combustion process by insuring that fuel is highly uniform, potent, consistent, and stable.

Q. Why don't the OEMs like GM, Chrysler, Ford, Cat., Detroit, etc. implement the
Fitch Fuel Catalyst on the cars right from the assembly line?
The OEMs don't typically add parts to the assembly line unless it saves money or they are required to add because of specific regulations. OEMs must meet certain standards set forth by the EPA and other regulatory organizations. When determining MPG window sticker numbers, the EPA requires the automotive OEMs to test on a certified fuel such as Indolene. These purest certified fuels are too expensive to mass produce and are not equivalent to what consumers purchase at the pump.
