Default Brake line length and trail vulnerability?

I have a 4" lift and when I went to 37's I had stainless steel brake lines put in while they had it apart for the axle swap...

the lines have some excess length, but is there something that can be done to make the lines not just dangle waiting to get torn off, off-road?

Fully extend the suspension by jacking the other end of the axle up and zip-tie them up and out of the way.

If you do it wrong, you may pinch one on the trail up in the mountains and have to improvise a repair to get back down the mountain. Ask me how I know. Put a pair of vise grips and zip ties in your tool box just in case.

how much extra length are we talking? Can you grab a pic?

I would suggest going to buy a small bungee cord, cut the hooks off and secure it to both the brake line and the frame. It will keep the line up out of the way until your suspension droops.

ok. I'm fortunate to have to friends with lifts at home so that isn't a problem, what is your best bet for choosing what/where to zip tie to?

i mean I can figure out the spacing based on the extension length...I just don't want to make it worse.

Thats a good idea. I actually tend to buy bungee material by the roll...

so this would connect it at each end, would the resulting loop from the excess brake line make a nice loop just looking for a stray branch or am I missing something?
