Bumper Mounted lights or Light bar?

I'm trying to decide how to run a lighting and bumper system, using my IPF 900 lights I've taken off my Land Rover. I am debating between the PureJeep Stubby Crawler bumper (see http://www.quadratec.com/products/12048_1001.htm) and the Warn Crawler Bumper (see http://www.quadratec.com/products/12122_100_07.htm) with no winch as of yet b/c I am not adding a lift at this point, and consensus seems to be that the stock suspension can not handle the extra weight of a winch without upgraded suspension. My question is: is there any reason I couldn't/shouldn't mount the 4 lights (2 spot, 2 spread) directly to the bumper? Would I be better off welding some sort of light mounting tabs rather than drilling holes directly into the bumper? I would like to avoid an above-windshield light bar because I know that lights this size make quite a bit of noise. Any ideas, recommendations, or personal experiences (pics?) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

excellent

I love the movable winch mounting (and all the other upgrades I plan to do:yup: ). Did you attach the PIAA lights through your own design, or were there already-established light tabs on the brush bar?

Also, nice color-coordination on the snorkel.

If you can swing it, go with either windshield- or lightbar-mounted lights. Why? Because they're (mostly) out of harm's way in those locations (beware of low-hanging branches, though).

I'm writing this because Scottcarp, a member of this forum, recently lost the use of his brand-new off-road lights that were bumper-mounted... we were doing some water crossings, and it was really cold, so there was ice... the rest is history.

Just my opinion, but it seems like you're less likely to ruin lights that are mounted away from the contact points of your Jeep (i.e. bumper).

To Future Searchers

So, after much continued searching on jk-forum (God, I love this site.), I have come to the following conclusion: http://www.shrockworks.com/Jeep-JK-F...-pr-16215.html

If I order personally, I can get them to add additional light tabs to the brush bar so that I can not only add a winch once I add my lift (is a jeep ever truly 'completed'?:D ), but keep the lights in place when I do. If I weld the tabs myself, it will be pain in the ass to powder coat the whole thing equally. Besides, how good does that Unlimited in the picture look?

FYI: If Purejeep decides to add a light bar to a stubby bumper with fog light cut-outs, I would also highly consider this. They were, apparently, showing it at SEMA without foglight holes (http://project-jk.com/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=6003).
