Default Bumpstop Spacing

I have been reading for a bit here trying to figure out this answer. I have a zone 3" lift and the front bump stops are almost touching id say a half inch or less between them. I've read most lift kits come with the correct bump stops for the lift height.. I have 3 " lift so do I need 3" of bumpstop between the top and bottom? It just seems the way they are now it would limit my flex... I will be going out this weekend to try it out but am confused seem like it would be a negative effect but maybe I am looking at it wrong. Also if it is bad what could I do? Get some heavier duty coils?

with a 3" lift, you technically want about 3" of bump stop extensions. yes, they will limit your up-travel but, you should have more room between your bump stop pads and the lower spring perch. if you have 3" extensions and really only have 1/2" between them, i would say you don't really have a 3" lift.

I purchased the 3" lift but this is what it looks like. The bottom bump stop is 2" tall and the top long rubber one is 3" do I have to much bumpstop where I may have forgot to take something off? As you can see in the pic there almost on top of each other...how could I fix it?

yeah, you have way too much bump stop going there and, unless the company you have is really afraid of over compressing your coils, i would remove the upper ones and just leave the 2" bottoms in place.

yeah, if you added the bottoms, they're why you're seeing the problems you are. technically, the uppers are the right size but, i don't like them because they tend to get hung up in the coils when flexing. the lowers you have are on the short side but, i'm gonna bet you'll be okay.
