CA adjustments for caster?

I've been dialing in my steering and suspension a little better. I've got everything good, except my caster is 4.9* I have Full Traction adjustable uppers and Teraflex adjustable lowers. If my target is 6*+ how much (and/or how many revolutions) of the upper CA's would you guess I would need to shorten to hit this? I am thinking 3 full revolutions might be about .25" and give me a little over 1*?? Does that sound about right? Anybody know for sure by chance?

No clue for sure...but a good starting point "I" would think would be to shorten the uppers two full turns each and lengthen the lowers by the same amount.

I've tried so many times to gauge the same thing and in the end its all been trial and error.

BTW, there are a lot of opinions on caster -but the bottom line is do what works for you. WOL recommends in the 6-7 range, factory spec is around 4.25-4.5, Teraflex recommends 5. I have mine set at 5 and it feels pretty good there. I've adjusted mine about 6 times and will probably keep adjusting as needed.

Thanks guys. After a bunch of trial and error, and seeing how "I like the ride" I am actually almost right on the money for what TF says to set the lengths of both of them at. Coincidentally, I am right at 5* and have been running this for a week or so. I've overshoot it before to 7.5* and felt the drive shaft vibe. I've run at just over 4* and it was too flighty and those bumps in the road were pretty harsh. So, I think I want to give 6* a try and see how it rides. I have an angle finder but quickly learned that what it tells me is not even close to what it measures on the lift. Not sure why on that one. Anyway, was hoping somebody knew how to get 1* more, so my educated guess might be a little more educated! Anybody else?

C'mon guys... I'm tired of trial and error. Nobody can narrow this down a little further???

I think without an alignment machine in your back yard, you've probably got the best advice anyone here can give you.

I know you are right, but I was just hoping somebody had figured out the formula of...

["X" CA turns (or "Y" length adjustment) = "Z" degree caster change]...

I'm sure its a pipe dream, but worth a try! I do appreciate your info though Redneck! :yup:
