Default Camber Problem

I have had my 3 inch lift and 35 in tires on for about 1000 miles and I just took it down to get alignment check and they said my front camber is off the on side is negative 2 degrees and the other is negative 1? They said my ball joints and tie rods where fine and to fix it I would need offset ball joints. Are these number that bad or is something else wrong, or do I need to get off set ball joints with my set up. Thanks.

-2 deg is a lot of negative camber. The inside edge of your tires will wear rapidly.

you might have bent your inner knuckles (axle C's)

do you have gussets?

Probably a bent C, possibly a bent housing. Offsets will correct it, but won't keep it from bending further.

This is why you see all of the posts saying that C Gussets are 'cheap insurance'...

I did buy some to put on just haven't been able to get it in to have someone put them on? Is there away to check if they are bent? Would offset ball joints help.

considering the numbers they gave you, and saying your joints are fine they are probably already bent. and yes, offset balljoints will pretty much be your only solution unless you get a new housing

If you were considering a housing upgrade, now might be a good time. Before you dump money into offsets and gussets and sleeves and possibly straightening.

Yeah I was hoping the front would last till I could afford to upgrade a junkyard 60 but I may just have to go with a 44. I did just go and look at my old tires and the insides are worn more is it possible they could bend with just 30 inch tires and not any hard wheeling.

Definitely. People are bending and shattering these housings running completely stock. Even on-road hitting potholes and curbs. Not a huge number, but it is happening. There are also some thoughts that housings are coming from the factory bent. No data to back it up, but it has been mentioned.

This one has a good pic. Stock, onroad, hitting a curb at about 20mph.
