I would at the very least get the same size spare....even ask the tire shop if they have a used 35 in the brand you are looking at...could save a few bucks also, if you do get a flat you are not playing havoc on your Diff's

I had the same thoughts - whether to go 33 or 35. I ended up with 34 Maxxis Big Horns (305/70-17). I have a six speed 3.73 gears. There's def a power loss when on an incline, but that's about the only place I notice it.

I am upgrading next time I have the 33x12.50 and yes you lose some power on inclines....but I lose power with the stock 32's on the same inclines....I will be going with a 35x12.50 and hope the superchips and 6 speed will be tolerable with the 3:73 gearing.

I'm currently going through the 33" vs. 35" debate and I think I will end up doing something similar to above (even though I won't be doing anything for another year or two when my stock Rubi tires wear out). I think I will look for a 285/75/17 (34.1") or a 295/70/17 (33.5"). Going with a 35" might be what I ultimately do once I have saved enough for a rear tire carrier and gears.

haha yeap, same here.

37's are definatley goin on after these wear out, but they only have about 2000 miles on them so thats gonna be a while.

to the OP, Get 35's for sure.

After reading someone else's thread on this same matter, I decided that when I upgrade my stock 32's on my Rubi I will go with the 35's and may or may not regear. I have a buddy with a Rubi on 35's and he did not regear and gets along just fine as a dd and on the trail it is great. I can not imagine getting tired of 35's...unless you went for 37's!!!

I like my 33's but I wish I had 35's. I took in to account that I had just bought 33's for my last jeep that I could use and Im running with the stock 3.21s. My jeep just rolled over 3000 miles so I think I will wait until these tires wear out and I can afford a re gear and locker install before going with a bigger tire. I know I would hate the performance if I put a bigger tire on there now. If you dont already have a brand new set of 33s laying around go with 35s. Any tire bigger than 32 inches will look better than those stockers.

Are 35's with an auto and 3:73's really that horrible???? Could I get by with a Superchip or will I absolutely have to budget for the gears?

I split the difference too-- went with 295 70 17's--- works great and I really don't think I will have to regear. Mileage stays better too than with the heavier and wider 35's.

just get the 35's, because with out a doubt you will be wanting 37's, and then......... it doesn't stop!!!
