Default Castor correction options

So I did the 2.5 BB kit about a month ago from rough country with shocks. Aside from the crappy shocks (which I can deal with for now until I get the lift I want) the jeep developed the famous "flighty or wandering" feeling when driving and also a little bump steer on top of that.

So my question is; what is a good effective remedy for this I can do on the cheap? I don't wanna put a ton of money into a lift I will not be keeping forever, but I would like to make it a little better at least.

Should I do lower ca's in the front? Can I do that without doing uppers? Again, I just need to be able to get some castor angle back in the jeep and I think that might do the trick. I just don't wanna put my pinion angle all out of wack and mess up my driveshaft and possible the pinion bearing.

You can do lower only adjustable arms, and lengthen them very slightly, or have your alignment guy do it, to get slightly more caster. With that much lift, I'd try around 6 degrees first, then go from there. Around 4.5 degrees is usually where they'll be at when stock. If you have it checked, and it's less than 4.5, you may even start at that number, 4.5, and see how it drives.

So I can just do lowers at about 4.5-6 deg. and still have decent pinion angle?

I installed these about 6 weeks ago.

If you talk to David, I think he's still offering 10% off. About $180 shipped.

Here's the thread and my impression, post #17

Cam Bolts - very inexpensive, but may have some issues with loosening up offroad. Give a small amount of adjustability. Will need to do some welding if you want to remove them.

Longer fixed lower arms / shorter fixed upper arms - Give a set amount of added caster.

CA Brackets - give a set amount of added caster.

Adjustable arms - uppers or lowers will do pretty much the same thing, just backwards of each other. Lowers have a better range of adjustability, but are more expensive. Uppers are cheaper, but you will need to cut that exhaust bolt off to install them. (for your lift height, the uppers should give plenty of adjustment if you want to save a few bucks.)

Yeah, as the link he posted above has in it, those lower arms are only about 3/8" longer than stock, and they put the caster in spec, so it doesn't take a lot. Unfortunately, proper pinion angle, and proper caster degree require the axle to rotate in different directions. My opinion is to make it drive better, and since the front shaft isn't pulling or getting near the stress of the rear, just put up with the worse driveshaft angle, unless, of course, you start experiencing driveshaft vibration. In that case, all I know is that you'll have to find a happy medium between the two. I actually just posted a new thread here in modified, asking about that very thing, called "front driveshaft ??", because I'm soon to be buying a new front shaft.

Just ordered the JKS "Jspec" arms from northridge4x4. I'm not really crazy about the "j spec" name but I guess you could say it just means jeep spec haha. Hope they work.
