Default Changing ctrl-arm rubber bushings on front axle?

Hi everyone,

I was at the garage yesterday, and after making sure all my control arms were greased & torqued properly, I still had a bit of a 'creak' in the front. My garage thought it was caused by the OEM rubber bushings. Can these be changed? Is there an alternative to the OEM bushings?

Thanks,
js.

Rubber bushings should not be "greased". Petroleum products will break down natural rubber. The alternative to OEM bushigs is to go to aftermarket control arms. The stock bushings could be pressed out, but it would likely be easier and quicker to pick up a set of arms that have been pulled off with low miles. Howm many miles are on your JK?

I didn't think the rubber bushings on the axle (front upper control arms) could be replaced by 3rd party bushings... These don't come with the control arms, they stay on the axle.

You're right. It would be a major pain to press those out. OEM style rubber bushings are available, but would likely not improve anything unless the original ones were just completely gone..
