Default Composite Lift Package Kit

Hey guys, I was hoping for some critique and suggestions for the lift I am trying to plan. I know the packages out there are all pretty good and mostly have just about everything you will need, but after reading a bunch of reviews, I was thinking about the components someone will need to do a 2.3-3" lift correctly. I think after months of reviews and research (and reading the Stickie - Every Question for Newbies), I think I have it nailed down.

2.5" Coils (Front / Rear) $300 - OME
Shocks (Front / Rear) $320 - Bilstein (5100)
Bump Stop Exten (Front / Rear) $80 - Teraflex
Sway Bar Links (Rear) $65 - Teraflex
Adjustable Track Bar (Front) $145 - JKS
Track Bar Bracket (Rear - FRAME) $33 - Teraflex
Coil Spring Retainer (Rear) $30 - JKS
Brake Line Extension Bracket $18 - Teraflex
COMPOSITE PACKAGE KIT $991 - TOTAL

Please take a quick look and let me know your thoughts on both the actual component list and the manufacturers I have picked....I tried to compile the list based on quality and price, or effectivley VALUE.

Also, doing something like this would allow me to piecemeal the package together over time as I came across deals, either slightly used or good sales, and try to spread out the costs over some longet time frame.

Thanks, and I hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Also, I know exactly how the $500 Northridge 4x4 Shopping Spree will be spent, IF I WIN IT......Thanks Dave for helping someone have a Great holiday season!

Other than the adjustable track bar and the bilstein shocks, that all came in my Teraflex 2.5 lift kit for 400.00. I used my Rubi shocks with extensions and have had no issues with the lift at all. Just wondering why your trying to do it all individually instead of purchasing a kit from someone who offers what you want?

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned I have the Sport model, so I will need some new shocks. I really don't want the shock extensions either. So, the teraflex kit comes to around $650/700 with the shocks and then add the Front Track Bar for another $145 and coil spring retainers, that comes to around $850/900.

And I don't discount the quality or ability of the Teraflex shocks or coils, but I have heard so much REALLY good stuff about the Bilstein 5100 shocks and the OME coils......and I am guessing I might be able to pick up there parts piecemeal over time or maybe convince some vendors to price a package like this out vs. dropping the full Tera kit price of $650/700 all at one time. I also guess I would be willing to spend a couple extra bucks in the long run to be able to spread this out and look for deals/sales or slightly used parts......

Does that makes sense?!? Thanks for the input though.....keep it coming.

I would include adjustable lower control arms. My Jeep tracks straight as an arrow with them.

With what you have there I would just go with the Northridge OME LT HD kit. It gives you adjustable track bars front and rear and braided brake lines instead of brackets, and front control arms. I also like the OME shocks better than the bilstien. I know several people who have switched from the bilstien to the OME because of the squishy ride the Bilstiens provide. By the time you add the other items to your package your cost will be more than the Northridge package.

Agree, go with the package by Northridge. I have Bilsteins and they are awesome, but the OME's are great and are part of the kit. I would add lower adjustable arms on front and you are set!

I would get the TF 2.5" coil kit, w/o shocks and buy the Bilsteins. i wheel the crap out of my TF 2.5 kit w/ extensions w/ no issues. So if it wasn't included in the kit, I didn't need it. Great offroad, great on road. No alignment issues, no steering issues, no wobble, etc...

Use the Teraflex rear axle mounted track bar bracket. It beefs up the stock bracket, is completely bolt on and puts the rear roll center back where it should be. Best $100 yet. It takes all the weirdness out of the rear handling on a lifted jeep.

specifically, how do you plan on spacing out the purchases? you will really want to do most of the lift all at once and IMO would be better off saving up for the complete teraflex lift (or any other complete package lift). the teraflex shocks are great and worth the money. get the TF coil lift with shock extensions and use the factory front track bar. then get the TF shocks and then a front track bar. or, save up and drop the money all at once and be done. IMO, when you mix brands you sometimes run into problems trying to troubleshoot issues down the line. i.e. brand X shock blows and they blame it on being brand Y's coil spring being incompatible and causing the shock to bottom out. or you get DW and brand X blames it on brand Y and vise versa. the teraflex shocks are designed to keep the coils from dislodging when fully drooped, also. it eliminates needing coil retainers. just some things to think about.
