So I am looking at getting a rubicon housing, what parts from my dana 30 will transfer over? I have brand new ball joints, will those work on the 44? what about knuckles? Im assuming the hubs will be different so I will need new hubs as they are different axle shafts.

Knuckles out they are the same. You can use the ball joints, hubs, brakes..

I didn't think you could press out ball joints and press them back in another axle

The 32 spline outer shafts are the same on both also.

To clarify, do you have a set of ball joints waiting, or are they already installed? You can't or really shouldn't reuse them.

ball joints already installed, have about 5000 miles on them

They may not survive an uninstall then a reinstall... But you never know, If the proper balljoint tools are used.
