1. Year and Model: 2005 x

2. Current Mileage: 17000+/-

3. Approx mileage when DW started: 14000+/-

4. Suspension (OEM, etc. Make sure you list all components like AM trac bar, CAs):All factory except for set of 2" coil spring spacers from Rough Country, nothing else.

4. Wheel/Tires/spacers: all original stock equipment before DW occured and after I cured it

5. What measures you have taken to resolve DW: After evaluating all the components and realizing nothing was broken/bent/loose/worn, I personally checked the alignmnet values with a magnetic base angle gage. I quickly learned by installing the 2" lift, it casued my CASTER to increase WAY TOO HIGH.

6. What was the"fix" or are you still dealing with it: By lowering my CASTER from +11degrees, down to +7degrees, the DW went away.

I agree replace the tie rod and drag link with better components. I did. The stock ones were flimsy crap. The new HD ones have greaseable, beefy tie rod ends and it can no longer be rotated by hand at all.

as mentioned earlier by others, I had the dw and it was resolved with trackbar adjustments. I am a believer that the trackbar is the main cause and solution to this problem.

ome hevy springs/jks track bars

4. Wheel/Tires/spacers
stock wheels and tires/1.5 spacers

5. What measures you have taken to resolve DW
checked to make sure every thing was tight and in good condition

6. What was the"fix" or are you still dealing with it
put stearing damper back on

I had jks track bar braces welded on, Left the damper off till I could figer out what damper will work with the brace the best.

Got the dw the first time I drove it after that on a back road on the way home
The next day I hit the same spot 2 more times and it did it both times

I mounted the damper back on the best I could in the stock location but had to rotate it at the tierod to fit. It hangs down low. Drove it on the same road that gave me the dw. All gone. Or should I say hidden like it was before

1. Year and Model : 07 Unlimited X

2. Current Mileage : 40700

3. Approx mileage when DW started: 20K ish, and only 4 times up to 40K, then new unballanced wheels/tires, and 17ish times after.

4. Suspension (OEM, etc. Make sure you list all components like AM trac bar, CAs) : TerraFlex 2.5" BB

4. Wheel/Tires/spacers : OEM wheels/315/70/17 BFG AT up to 40K miles then Black Rock Rims and same tires.

5. What measures you have taken to resolve DW : Got ATX Artillery rims with Firestone Destination M/T tires (ordered mounted and ballanced)

6. What was the"fix" or are you still dealing with it : DW gone for a week at least, and no "shimmy" or vibration at all since.

I think the un-ballanced tires/wheels were setting off my DW. Before the new rims I only had it 4 times after hitting large potholes. With the Black Rock rims, I got it after hitting a mosquito. About every 10 miles (not joking). Better rims and new tires, and none so far.

Well Months ago I took my 35's off and put my stockers on while I changed out tires. Got DW 4 times within 10 miles. I knew the tires werent balanced and figured that was the problem until last week. I put the balanced stockers on so I could get an alignment, and voila, guess who made a reappearance. Ole DW. Now let me say that I know it is DW for sure, as it feels as if the JK is tearing apart from the inside. It is so Violent that I was afraid it would crack the hardtop. I had a friend behind me and he said it looked as if all 4 wheels were gonna fall off. I have just recently took a trip in the Jk that was 600 miles with the 35's on with no Dw issue what so ever. I have never had DW with my 35's on, but my JK sure doesnt like the stockers. Feels like it is trying to shake them off. Track bar is torqued to 140 lbs. Figure this out, I am stumped. It isnt an issue unless I put stockers on. I am thinking of replacing my ball joints with some of those HD ones everyone is talking about.
