Default Disconnects?

I Am new to the whole jeep mod thing and throughout my research I keep stumbling upon the term "quick discos" or quick disconnects. Can somebody please explain to me the use and significance of these?

Thanks

disconnects refers to the swaybar links. If you disconnect them while off roading it allows for greater flex or articulation that makes it easier to keep both front wheels on the ground. The factory swaybar links are attached with nuts and bolts, and take around 10 minutes to take off and secure. The quick disconnects replace the nuts and bolts with posts and pins. All you have to do when you get to the trail is pull the pin and secure the links. I got them after my adventure with reconnecting the factory links while laying in mud and the pouring rain If you off road, get some. They are certainly worth it.

Hope that helps

Quick disconnects are used to disconnect the sway bar from the axle; thus giving you more flex or articulation. The Rubicon models come with an electronic disconnect motor which eliminates the need for manual disconnects

Welcome! Quicks disconnects refer a type of sway bar links. from the factory they are bolted in place. When disconnected it allows your front axle to articulate freely. The quick portion refers to the replaced attachment. So instead of using a bolt it will have a pin assembly of some sort, depending in which brand you choose!

However...the rubi setup, in my opinion, is still very limited.
With the system disengaged we COULD NOT install a 1" spacer without disconnecting the links at the bolts.

Default Piggybacking on your question

I have a 2011 JKU Rubicon and just received my TF 2.5 coil lift. From everything I've read on the forum and TF installation videos I've watched, it looks like I will need to replace the front sway bars with the stock rear ones. My question is, with the electronic front disconnecting sway bars, do I keep them, or replace them as indicated. If replacing, is there anything funky I will need to do, since they are the electronic type. Sorry for the stupid question, but as I am mechanically retarded, I figured I'd ask.

Thanks in advance for your input,

Dank
