Default do i really need gears for 35's

i have a 4 dr rubicon with auto and 4:10 gears. Iwant to run 35 's but don't want to regear so who is running this combo and how bad does it suck or does it not suck? especially since a lot of the tires are actually 34.5"

No one can tell 'you' whether 'you' will hate the lack of power. If you don't want to regear, then don't.

Measure your tires and plug some numbers into the chart in the faq's to get an idea of where you'll be. But my opinion? Pre-12 autos were undergeared straight from the factory. So plan on hating the 35's, and having OD turned off permanently.

I have a 2012 Rubi, 4:10's and 35's. Live in CO, spend nearly every weekend in the mountains. Back roads and interstates. I think the 3.6 has plenty of power. I can maintain speed, pass on incline, etc. That's with additional gear and 3 people in the Jeep. IMHO, it's good. Next, I'm a power junkie. Naturally I want more. But in reality, it has plenty to turn. I think 37's would make me swap gearing.

I had a 2013 jku with 3.21's automatic and 33's I thought it was ok. Now I have 2014 jkur with 4.10's and 33's and I realize 33's and 4.10's are perfect. I think after 2000 miles of 33's and the 4.10's I would be disappointed in the performance of 35's and 4.10's. It is all perspective. Had I went right to 35's with the 4.10's I would have been satisfied but now after feeling what they should be geared like I would be disappointed.

I've got an 07 Rubicon on 35's and stock gearing. If money wasn't a concern I would change gearing. I'm in Illinois where it is very flat and still if the wind blows I needed to shut overdrive off. When driving the jeep I usually just take it slow and cruise, but if I'm running late I leave the jeep behind and just drive the truck.

2007 JKX 2door (stock 3.21. I was satisfied with gearing at stock tire size, however after moving up to 35s, I noticed the marked decrease in power. I quickly changed out gears to 4.88s and now I feel like I have enough power for driving around town, but I think i should've gone up to 5.13s.

Gears are the most overlooked mod,but best thing you will ever do for your rig.
2007-2011 need gears for anything other than stock. 12+ does ok but I would still regear.

Undisputed fact that stock gears and 35's really aren't ideal, except for 4.10's and 3.6L. What you are willing to deal with is a personal thing. Some people complain about 3.21's and stock tires. Friend of mine dd his 2010 with 3.21's and 37" PB Rockers for over a year before he regeared. Find someone with 35's and see if you can slap them on you're jeep and go for a ride.
