That is originally why I bought my DirtyDog model, they advertised the same. It took me all of the first time putting the hard top back on that quickly realized that is kind of a farce. Technically being able to and it being a total PITA is a diff story. With any of these, it's just easier to undo the front couple points and flip it back.

The only one I've seen that I don't care for is the Trek Armor shade....and that is because I don't like the straps/buckles they use. The bungee balls are just so much easier.

They use velcro in the newer one (now that they are Bartact). Did they use something different before? I can undo the velcro in a few seconds.

Nope, you're right......what was coming to mind were those buckles they use on the strap that goes around the soundbar.

The two piece Dirty Dog uses straps instead of velcro now over the sound bar and can absolutely be used with a hardtop with out removal. Mine has been up for 4 years now without removal and I swap between the hardtop and softtop every spring and fall. The only thing that is undone is the 3 footman loops in the front which is the same with the hard or soft top, it still has 2 bungies around the corners to keep it tight.

this picture from their website is the same as I had. although there are straps at the corners where they shade meets the soundbar, it was held down TO the soundbar via velcro, which is what i was referencing earlier in the thread.

Unless they change their design again, the ones I have from 4 years ago has webbing with shinch buckles on the sides and sound bar with two bungies in the front corner and 3 snap loops on the footmans. I was under impression that they redesigned them to the style I have and must not have updated their pictures.

If they did change it to bungies everywhere that kinda sucks as they wear out as the webbing will not.

Odd. I bought mine mid-2013, and it is held on with bungees and secured via velcro at the sound bar, both front and rear, to eliminate flapping in the wind. Sounds like we bought them about the same general time. What I have/had was like what is pictured on their site, but their install vids still show the buckle/strap design like you say you have. Here are pics of the hook portion of the velcro sewn in to my shade.....and then you put the soft side of the velco on the sound bar plastic. The only thing I just didn't care for is in the Texas sun, I'd have to replace that velcro on the soundbar as the heat would just kill the adhesive.....even industrial strength stuff.

Mine goes on in the summer, paired with my Bestop soft top. I take if off in the fall/winter when I put the hardtop back on, I am tall and if I leave it on, my hair touches it.
