Door Straps
Is there anything available that will allow the doors to stay open on their own?
Maybe something to replace the straps or something along those lines? I was to get the back doors on my 4 door to stay open just to make it a little safer for the little ones.

gravity. park down hill.
The "park downhill" suggestion is about the only solution at this time. Maybe design something
...you could be rich and famous!
Maybe you could install trunk struts, like on the tailgate mod thread.
MY VW jetta has reall short ones to hold the trunk lid up approx. 6" compressed.
Would make a very nice write up *hint*hint*

I *almost* like the strut idea except for this:
An unaware passenger may(will) let it swing into another object.
Hell, I may even forget and do that.
Plus a constant force pushing on the sheet metal.
It would have to be designed so there is a "break over center" mechanism involved. Or like the back glass struts, the glass stays down when you open the gate, right? Pull up a bit and the struts take over. Somethng like that.
I'm working on something now, non-strut, it may be a couple of months off like the hood pins, but I'll let everyone know what I come up with. Stay tuned

I haven't done this, so I'm just guessing. I think they would open somewhat slowly. That may be worse than the alternative, when there's no one beside you. I do have my strut for the lift gate, just haven't gotten blind nuts yet. I'll check back in when I see how that opens with a strut on it. I sure hope it doesn't fling it open. I'm just trying to keep it open when my hands are full.
