Default Driveshaft questions

I was recently in an accident involving my 2007 Unlimited Wrangler Rubicon. I was hit in the driver’s side both doors my rock rails fenders and steering stabilizer bend the front axle and front bumper all had to be replaced. I got her back took it out on the highway and right way I knew something was wrong it was making a low vibrating sound. So I took it back to the body shop and they found out that the front driveshaft is bend as well. The problem is the stock drive shafts are almost impossible to find from what body shop told me. So I asked him can we go with an aftermarket drive shaft, said we might have too. So I started looking at the drive shafts on the market JE Reel, Rubicon Express, Tom Wood and Teraflex. Are there any pros or cons to any of these companies drive shafts and will they work on a stock Rubicon? I have No lift at this time I plan on putting one on in the future. Also what is the difference between 1310 and 1350 drive shafts? One more question if I change out my front drive shaft with one of these aftermarket shafts do I need to replace the rear shaft? Sorry if these questions seem dumb to you but I don’t know a lot about building up Jeeps that’s why I went with the Rubicon cause I figure it was as built up as much as I would ever need other than a lift

Sorry to hear about your accident.
The driveshafts are written up extensively on here...
And I also understand being new to things and all.. The drive shafts you mentioned are all very excellent choices. Mine are the JE Reels, but ALL are great companies/ products. The 1310 comes with either OEM or HD joints. (get the HD) the 1350 are Xtremely tough, for VERY serious wheelling in like boulder crawling. IMO ... once again, IMO from what I have read on this board from the experienced wheelers, is 1310 HD, unless you either have money to blow, or are planning on VERY heavy wheeling. Also you can do them seperatly. Front and Rear have really nothing to do with each other, except they serve the same purpose. So go to town and be able to budget yourself so you can have the best of all worlds.
BTW, Yes any of these shafts will work with a Rubicon model.
And by all means get that thing dirty ... lol... you will be pleased with how capable a stock Rubicon is. <<<< hope this helps you out there.
One last thought. Build you Jeep according to YOUR planned use, and your taste. Don't worry to much about the wide variety of opinions just weed out what applies to HOW you want to play. (rocks, Malls, Mud, beaches...etc.)
ENJOY
Bill

Thanks Bill I was hoping someone would help me out. Now I just need to found if there on back order aswell and how fast JE Reel or one of the others can get one to me up here in Canada. Insurance is covering it so i should try and milk them for the 1350 if not 1310 would be just fine. Thanks again.

Wink Driveshaft problems

I would get a holf of the folks of Carolina Driveline. They do everything to PTOs, farm equipment ,4x4s, movie cars. I am friends with the owner and I am sure he can fix your ride. I have seen their work first hand.
