dyna bead balancing works, period!
 

I just wanted to give a recommendation based on my experience with dynabeads from innovative balancing. I installed the beads (look at my post for "aev pro cal recalibration tool question" for my installation procedure for an already mounted tire) and they balanced my 35" nitto mud grapplers perfectly. My steering wheel was wobbling all over the place even with a fox stabilizer. The tire shop did a good job at balancing, it just didn't last. The first time I would go offroad, they were out of balance again! I used 10oz. in each tire, and it doesn't even matter if you pull the old weights off, they are balanced, no more shimmy, wobbles, etc. I have walker evans wheels too so this combo is very heavy, I can't imagine any case where these things will not work if they worked for me. I have only used them for about 1 k miles so far, but if they are balanced, you know it immediately, I just do not see having any issues, if I do, i will post, thanks

one more thing, I have had issues with mud tire balancing issues for years, especially on vehicles with rack and pinion set ups (ie tacoma) and i thought with my JK i wouldn't have to worry as much, but it turns out shimmy is a problem here as well with "out of round" tires. I see many posts for balancing issues but not many for dyna beads as a solution. Give these things a try, I hope to never be back at a tire shop with the front-end guy saying, " I will gladly take your money, but you will never balance those things." good luck. larry

I just got my new 35s. After talking with the folks from Innovative Balancing, they recommended 8oz of the off-road beads. I have about 50 miles on the tires so I'm not ready to pass my judgment yet. I have some wobble until I'm up to speed and have maintained it for a minute or so... then it seems to straighten out. I have not yet had them up to highway or freeway speeds but plan to do that soon. I'll reserve judgment until then.

I did a little driving tonight after work. I didn't make it up onto the highway or Interstate, I just stuck to some local roads. This video is of a 40mph zone... I think you can tell how much wobbling is going on.

I use 8 ounces of .25gram air soft pellets in my 33x12.5x15s and they run like a champ. Balanced all five tires for less than $20.00.

you may have needed a couple more ounces. I used 10oz. on my 35"s and no wobble. i think a little more does better than not enough in this case. also it depends on how out of round your set up is. My 35" mud grapplers are no where near the worst tires I have had to balance and it still took 10oz., so if you have boggers or something, it will take much more. Just think of how heavy the tire/wheel is compared to the weight your adding. It takes two people to put my spare in place on the rear bumper (~80lbs)!

I always wondered about these... wondered how they effect the inside of the tires since they arent designed to be balanced in this manner... (Passenger tires anyway) and how they effect the TPMS sensors...

well found my answer at their site... wont effect the tires.. and they work with TPMS but may have to break a bead to install them...

The problem I read, and I believe it is my problem.. is a lateral imbalance.. the inside and outside of the tire require different weights.. the beads do not correct this condition.

Innovative Balancing claims the beads can be used with some TPMS sensors by replacing the stem with a filtered one and you they have to allow the installation of the beads.

However, having 10-14 oz of beads colliding with the sensors will not extend their lifetime. :thinking:
