evo rock slider question

EDIT: how far does the top bar on the sliders stick out from the body? can these be used as a step?

I like the look but I'm really leaning toward weld ons.

I'm sure I'm just complicating things, but you might also look into the Shrockworks rails. They are listed as bolt on, but are frame mounted, and I don't see why they couldn't be welded.

Look into VKS sliders. I just got them and they are sweet. Weld-on, similar design to evo and cheaper

the vks sliders do look really similar, but they do have the same type of logo that I mentioned. It looks like the logo opens up into a pocket inside the sliders if that makes any sense:thinking:. I'm just concerned because most of my wheeling is in muddy areas and it seems like it would rust from the inside.

i have had the evo ones for years.. no issues at all with rust.. and we get a good amount of snow / rain / mud just make sure you get some paint in their when you paint them.. you shouldnt have any problems

From what I've read, they drain out. I am pretty sure a few minutes on the hwy would dry everything out. Am few friends run the EVO sliders and haven't complained about water getting trapped behind the logo and they run muddy trails as well. You can always drill a small hole if you are concerned.

Are we talking about the tube sliders or the rocker armor? I have had the armor for a year running many muddy trails with no rust. The key is putting a bead of rtv on the back to seal it against the body. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/18/qa6yjyga.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/18/ugapa8us.jpg

Lot's of hearsay, little true experience. Gotta love the internet.

If water gets in there, it stays until mother nature drys it up via evaporation.... so water does get caught. That being said, I've had a set for a couple of years now and nary a problem with rust.

As for the logo issue.... weld it up and kill two birds with one stone.
