Default exhaust

ok so i did some searching on here but i didnt really found the answer i was looking for. I put a flowmaster 40 on my 07 and i absolutly hate it. I see that people like alot of different brands but what sounds the best with no rice sound to it and which doesnt cause me to lose power. I just did axle back with 2.5 flowmaster 40 series and overdrive sucks it has less power under 60 than my 4 banger yj in 5th gear. Any ones opinion will be helpful

There are a couple of folks that sell different cat-backs (axle back) kits for the JK.

Some use:

Magnaflow Muffflers
Edelbrock Mufflers
Gibson
RIPP motorsports has the MBRP on their supercharged JK.

Good luck...

I went to a local shop and had the stock (mashed up from 4 wheelin) muffler removed and they installed an off brand Turbo muffler and i love the sound under hard pedal.

I went with the axle Borla axle back single exit on my 07 Rubicon and couldn't be happier! It is quiet at idle but has somewhat deep roar when accelerating. It feels like there is a little more power there. I also have an Airaid intake so the engine breathes a little easier at both ends. If you open up the exhaust too much you may lose a lot of bottom end torque and just make power at high rpm's. I went with the single exit after talking directly to Borla, I wanted to keep the bottom end and this was their advice! About a year ago someone did some experimenting on a dyno and found that dual exhaust actually caused a DROP in power, do a search it's here somewhere! Go to Borlas website they have sound bytes to listen to.

I purchased the full Magna flow single exhaust, and could not be happier. The system gets rid of a cat, and free up some ponnies. The sound is awesome. No ricer sound, to me it sounds kind of like a baja vehicle, and not overly loud. Enough sound to know that it is not stock. I also did an AFE intake and the two compliment eachother. The actual exhaust can is much smaller than the factory can, and it reduces the chance of damage as well.

The Magnaflow has a nice polished finish too.
