Default which exhaust to get?

Going to buy a new exhaust. What exhaust system do you guys recommend. Needs to be high clearance and don't want to sound like a ricer.

I recommend the pypes high clearance. Have had it on for a couple months. Deep sound not too obnoxious and very reasonably priced

I'm a big fan of the Dynomax rock crawler. You can dump before the rear axle or exit straight out the back (mine goes out the back). It gives the jk a nice low rumble. Doesn't sound ricer unless you get up over 2500rpm. It is loud. But deep.

This is the Dynomax off road EVO dumped before the axle on a 2 door. My RPMs dropped almost 400 at 70 MPH, so roughly 2600 RPMs on 35s and 4.88s.

If you want a "quiet" pre axles exhaust you will have to go custom. I went that route and spent a total of $59 and I spend a couple hours welding and cutting. Alot cheaper and quieter than the dynomax bolt on kits.

I got an aFe axel back that is high clearance. Sounds pretty good, not too loud, and doesn't sound like a Honda.

MBRP has a nice high clearance exhaust with a muffler before axle. I bet you could find a muffler or off-road shop willing fab a muffler before the axle cheaper.

Do a search on the forum, there are plenty of threads about exhausts, and lots of information.
I'd limit the options to stainless steel exhausts, and avoid those which have fiberglass packed in the muffler (gradually, the fiberglass becomes plugged).
What I chose for ground clearance, not too loud nice growl, free of ricey or drone sounds, is the Magnaflow # 15237, cat-back, over the axle.

^^^^what he said...gotta go custom for quiet. From my "real world I tried most things experience" the best bolt on / hack is an afe cat back bolt on kit, but puting a "vibrant ultra quiet" resonator in the place of the stock resonator. The resonator can be slipped on easily by cutting out the length on the midpipe and slipping it on. If you want a new exhaust for sound only then save your money though for other things. The quest for good sound is way too subjective anyways.

If you want to relocate because of space thats different. But...the stock bathtub takes a beating well so unless you pancake it, just paint it black and move on.

The exhaust sound holy grail is a trap...with punji sticks lining the bottom designed to poke holes in your wallet. Dont be fooled.
