Exhausting search

I have looked everywhere for a new exhaust system for my 2 door Sahara. I know Gibson has a cat back system but I have heard they tend to be on the high frequency side. I really only need a muffler since the jk has stainless steel, mandrel bent pipes as stock. Borla would be great but they told me in an email that they have not even begun development on a product. Any suggesstions are welcome. The 3.8 is a great engine but very quiet and you can tell its very restricted. I'm not interested in loud and I want to avoid a cabin drone and maybe pick up a few mpg. Best tank so far 16.2.

I know that Dynomax is working on a system and should have it out soon. :)

Dynomax has an exhaust out. Aluminized $279, stainless $399. Both come with a stainless tip. Until I see the list of sponsors on this site I don't want to post the web address.

I agree with 2k2wranglerx. I prefer custom work a lot more compaired to a prefab kit. Check out the custom work I had done... https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modified-jk-tech-2/my-jk-growls-744/ it cost me around 500 but woulda only been 250 if i had gone with single exhaust (which has been dyno proven to give a few more horses and torque)

it sounds AMAZING. I described the sound in the first post on the other thread. Just dont feel like typing it out again. lol It was worth every penny for the extra getup and for it to sound like it has balls again.

the exhaust shop are the ones that recommended the magnaflow for the sound. The only thing they had to compair it to was the v-6 mustang though. I was going to go with flowmaster but they told me that they installed a dual flowmaster system on a v-6 mustang and it sounded real high pitched and ricey. But they did the same thing with magnaflows and said that it was really deep and sounded almost like a v-8. They were absolutly correct. Im glad they talked me out of the flowmaster set up.

I had a single manga flow put on at a custom shop $225.00 with tax.sounds very good.no drone but no rice burner.sounds kinda like the 4.0 but a little louder.much better off the line pick-up now.

Did you do a cat back/ custom cat back, or just replace the muffler? Can you still hear the radio on the interstate? Thanks!

I wanted performance gains, and a little louder sound but was on a very tight budget. I bought a cherry bomb glasspack #87516 which is almost 30" long at PepBoys for $20. Used the piece I cut out for the muffler for the rear exhaust exit and put a chrome turndown on it for about $80. I've had it on for almost 500mi and it isn't to loud unless you put the pedal to the floor, nice low rumble at highway speed. :) (Pics attached)

they cut the pipe just before the back axle and custom made the pipe from that point to the new muff in the stock place.on the OEM muff the pipe enters in the back but the magna flow enters on the side thus the custom piping over the back axle.the magna flow is smaller the stock so it fits tight under the jeep and is less likely to be harmed off road.the reason we put the magna flow in the stock place was because it had a heat shield vs any place between the axles. and yes you can hear the radio just fine at 60 or 80 mph just a little back ground noise.
