Of all the designs I've seen thus far, this one is by far the best of what I'm looking for. I like the fact that the fog lights are integrated into the bumper, yet there is still a good location to mount some off-road lights for those of us who like to off-road at night.

I also have a question if you're still around James, do you do any custom modifications to your bumpers? I also drive a 29' RV. I would like to find out if you could weld some tow bar attachment points for a Blue Ox tow bar onto the front bumper that would be discrete, yet strong. I plan to tow my Jeep with me when I go on vacations with the RV so:
1. We have something to drive while we're there.
2. So we can off-road while on vacation.
3. Most importantly, so I can get the wife hooked to the point that vacations end up going to places just to 4-wheel!

When do you anticipate production/pricing? I assume you've entered production now?!

I'll look into it. I've had that question posed to me several times now, and there is a possiblity that a towbar could be mounted on the recovery shackles but it would probobly depend on the towbar. At the least you could order the bumper from us without any coating & have a local shop weld the mounts and stuff on for you. We could have it done but it might not be worth it to you all is said and done.

I'll look into it further & see if I can come up with anything...

Default Flat towing need

Make that three of us. I previously bolted these (see link) to the front of my TJ's bumper and fastened them into the cross-tube between the TJ frame rails. Made spacers to take up the space between the the cross-tube and bumper. The recommended mounting spacing is 24" on-center. Rather than welding these brackets on the face of the bumper, I'd prefer to have them tied into more than one surface of the bumper or bolted directly to the frame through the bumper.

The mating tow-bar has three tabs that intermesh with the above bracket with a locking pin passing through the tow bar and bracket.

Perhaps you could offer the option of tabs for flat towing to mount up to the most popular tow bars such as BlueOx. There would need to be enough demand to make it worth your while of course.

Another solution would be to fabricate an adapter to slip over the standard tow points of your bumper, secured by the same hole used by the D-ring.

Idea's anyone else?

Default Add me to the list

I plan on flat towing and will buy whatever towbar you could work with. On my TJ I have an ARB bumper that I had to spend way too much time and money modifying to work with the Blue OX Bar. I think a lot of people would buy your bumper just for that feature.

From my research, the Blue Ox tow bar is the best available on the market. More people use a Blue Ox tow bar than any other bar. The JK is a wonderful Jeep, it deserves the best (safest tow bar) in my humble opinion.

Second, I read recently about the new winches coming out from WARN next month with an incorperated Air Compressor to 100psi, capable of airing 4ea 35" tires back up to 32psi in 8 minutes. My JK will be sporting one of THOSE winches (options are 9000 pull, or 12,000 lb pull). Will these new winches bolt onto your new bumper?? That winch is VERY cool, and any bumper I buy will have to be able to accept it.

Yes they will. all of our bumpers, with the exception of the FJcruiser bumper, will & do allow room for warns new winch (which is way cool I might add.)

Good enough, I'm sold. If you can manage to put tow bar attachments on the front of your bumper, or better yet, an adapter to use the D-shackle mounting spots, I want to place an order for a bumper!

Expedition One had told me previously that they would have a working prototype of their front bumper available by mid November. I re-contacted them again this week, this was their reply:

We had a few changes that had to be made to the internal structure. We're just waiting on the prototype to be finished (its being made as we speek), and for us to finally get our 07 Wrangler so we can beet on it a bit before it goes into production. We've also been busy on the design of our rear bumper and a new front bumper for the JK, for a slightly different style offroader... We will be releaseing the design for the rear bumpers and new style front bumpers shortly. Look for pictures of our trail series front bumpers in a week or so....

regards

James

Just to keep everyone informed. Right now, it's a toss-up between this and the SkunkWerks front bumpers.
