There is a guy on here with a 40 on the back of a orfab carrier. Orfab says its good for 200lbs but most think its underrated.

I have one sitting in the box I am putting on tomorrow that I bought from Northridge4x4.ca

Default OR-FAB Rocks

I've had my OR-FAB Tire/Can carrier for three years now and have been carrying around a 37" spare, 5 gallon Jerry can, Hi-Lift, CB antenna and recently modified the second Jerry can mount to hold my Powertank. I also have the OR-FAB rear sheet metal bumper which provides protection for the spare when descending ledges and allows me to retain the factory trailer hitch. This was one of the first mods I did and one of the best.

Did someone mention me?? Yep, I am hanging a 40" spare off mine and have been completely impressed with the carrier's ability. My only complaint is that I have the original jerry can design, so the spare sticks out pretty far from the jeep. However, because I am running 40"s I sit high enough to not worry about getting hung up......but I have drug the spare on a few inclines. You can see in the photo below, it hangs way out there! If I could do it over, the Rotopax version is the way to go

thanks! Yeah that was really my only real concern. I think the rotopax setup should be good. Your jk is sick man! I'm probably going to do like you did and just take off the plastic on my rear and run this carrier. Baby due soon so I can't drop alot of coin

I have one and love it. I just installed it about a week ago, but so far so good! Forum member ckivy helped me with the install and we knocked it out in about 2 hours. I can see where it can be very time consuming and very hard with only one person. I did not have an angle drill, but I had a cordless Snap-On that could fit inside the rear corners.

yeah I am trying to find a angle drill to install mine tomorrow, 60$ seems like a bit much for something I may only use once. i am all for buying tools but its not often i need a angle drill.

You never know, a right angle drill can come in handy in different situations. The tool cost is worth the tire carrier install. Its totally solid. Trust me I know
