OR-FAB Tire Carrier Problem...

I have been installing my OR-Fab Tire/Jerry Can Carrier all day...Jesus Christ... Got everthing good to go and ready to mount up my tire and I installed the tire lock...I put the spare on and began to tighten the T-handle down...until I ran into the lock. Look at the pictures below...

As you can see below, tire tire is flush.

Here is the rear.

Either I am missing some hardware or this is NOT the lock intended to go with the carrier. I have looked at others pictures and the lock does not stick out near as far as mine.

What is up? Thanks.

If you flipped the "lock bar" around would you have more room to tighten the tire bar down  from the picture it seems as if that bar needs to be turn around because of the dropped recess in it

From your pictures, it looks like you have everything correct.

What back spacing are your rims? What size tire? Just curious.

I am also curious what Yates and the guys at OR-Fab say. Top notch guys, they recently helped me out with some questions I had about my tire carrier install, so I'm sure they'll get you taken care of.

the issue is with backspacing. You can turn the wheel around if you need to. I put a nut on the T handle

OK, talked to OR-Fab, the backspacing of the wheel is the issue. I went to Home Depot to get a nut, the did not have any...sooo I had them cut a piece of 1" galvanized pipe...fits perfectly. Actually looks like it came with the kit.

Here is a pic.

I can even go smaller by maybe an inch.

I would just like to say thanks to Dave at Northridge and to Yates and Tony from OR-Fab. I made a post, Dave saw it, Yates makes a post for my number, Tony calls and straightens out the problem...all within minutes. And this is after 8pm on a Friday night. Outstanding.

What backspacing do you have? I'm just curious.

OR-Fab guys are awesome! They know how to wheel too! :yup:

good job! I'd suggest cutting that pipe down just a bit. You want to make sure the T handle has plenty of thread in the carrier.
