Default Front locker

I need some help here. I'm going to have a front locker installed in the JK. Thinking about an ARB air or a Ox cable. I don't really like the sound of the air compressor, but if it's better I could put up with it. What one do you think would be best or do you think either one would be a good choice?

Thanks

DISCLAIMER: I have 0 first hand knowledge of either of those.

FWIW, from my limited knowledge of what I've read on the 'net and heard people in the offroading scene talking, I'd go with the Ox w/ a cable. Seems that you'd have less issues with air lines falling out, no noise from the compressor, etc.

If I had an X, then my first thought would be to an Ox. Ok, maybe the first thought would be to an Aussie (had one of those in my old truck) 'cause they're like 1/3 of the cost, but if you want selectable, then I think you have to give the Ox a good hard look. They're forum sponsors, too, so that's a plus!

Thats about the price plus $150 ship and then there is the cost of new gears for my rear which are 373 so now were looking at or around 2k. Considerably more then just adding a locker.

Just to give a different point of view, (even though I put in the D44 with the E-locker) put some thought toward the ARB. A company out there called 2trackmindsoffroad.com makes a nifty bracket that bolts onto the brake master cylinder using the original studs and nuts. Put in the high volume air compressor and you have a nice on-board air system. With the engine running all you hear is a slight buzzing sound. And to power the locker, it only takes a few seconds of run time. Just a different point of view for you.

All the guys in my 4x4 club recomend detroit lockers, if all you want is a locker. No cables. No hoses. No switches. I personaly am saving for the Rubicon D44 setup and sway bar. Only because I don't want to reduce the resale/trade-in value. Plus when you put lockers on your Jeep she will be able to take you places the weaker axles won't be able to handle. So sure you can get a locker for $500-$700 instead of droping $3200 on Rubi axles, but when you snap your D35's and DCX wants $1200 (only $300 less than the Rubi axle) you will wish you beefed up. This is all on the advice of about 100 people I have asked at crawling events in TX and OK but I'm taking it.

Well if you get air lockers you will then also have an air compressor that you can use to air your tires back up when you are done krawling.
Just my 2 cent's

If cost is the major factor, I would go with Aussie.

The Aussie was my first thought, but it's my under standing they don't have one available yet for the JK. I might just put the click out and go with the new diff as Hitmoney suggested and regear the rear and send Him the bill. As already stated the 30 not as strong as the 44. I've read a few post that some are useing the Aussie in theres by changing this and that. I don't know if this is a good thing or not. I like things to fit as intended. Maybe sell the #30 and recover some of the cost.
