I went the hub centric wheel (Two manufacturers I believe have wheels for the JK ) route to have a proper setup because my old school mind is still stuck in the 80's/90's. I remember as far back as highschool and my Mech teacher talking about Lug and Hub centric wheels and how hub takes the load and lets the lugs do the clamping force. Lug centric allthough fine have the lugs take the weight and clamping force. As long as they are run down centered AND TORQUED EVENLY (I.E no impact wrench) there are no issues.

The rings .. "hub centric rings are manufactured so that when they are installed on a vehicle, the wheels are located directly off of the centre flange of the brake drum or rotor. This is done to insure that the outer beads of the wheel are concentric with the wheel bearings. The result is a much truer, better balanced tire/wheel assembly. This is very important with modern high tech suspension systems."

Wheel Rings
Thanks a lot! Great info.

The jeep wrangler always has a toe out condition. As does any solid axle 4x4. Spacers do exaggerate this and really is no cause for concern. Anytime you install a lift, the front end now is "further" away from the frame.

The OEM track bar is a specific length matched to the stock suspension. As the front axle becomes further away from the frame, the more it gets pulled twards the drives side.

To correct this an adjustable length track bar usually is installed and set to a proper length so the axle now sits centered under the Jeep due to the bar now being longer.

Toe in/out should NEVER be alteed just by installing a suspension lift. Only drag link adjustments to again, compensate for length and bring steering wheel back to center.

Can a bent C be repaired or do you need to buy a whole new axel? Also, would this be something that's covered under my dealership warranty since I bought it used? Fyi, my warranty ends tomorrow!

Yikes, so my only option, if they are bent, is a whole new axle? What would the damage on something like that be?

Wow. O.k see there is a "building order" of sorts that should be taken when mods are considered on our rigs. With lift comes bigger tires right? Bigger tires create greater leverage against the still stock parts.

D30 axles as well as D44' s have the weak C issues. At a minimum on a 44 weld in a set of gussets, and a 30 gussets definite and possibly sleeves.

So now you are left with what do I do ... damage is done. Could pony up a few grand for a beefed 44 by pro rock or dynatrack ... whatever. OR find a stocker that you can get by with THAT MAY be slightly tweaked and beef it up to put it into the "ok" for now category until you break that one ... so on.

I am a one and done guy. Break it .... go bullet after. Kinda pay now or pay AGAIN to pay later.

Its cruel but truth. Now do you have to replace it ... no but the jeep may pull slightly to the right or uneven tire wear may start to appear. ... however the moon will stay in its orbit for now.

Wow alot to type on phone
