Default FT 3" Premium Plus

I picked up this kit last year when Northridge had them on sale. I finally had a chance to install it this weekend and here are my thoughts on it thus far.

1. The instructions that came with it are vague and incomplete. The parts do not have part numbers (the springs did but the front part numbers didnt match the BOM). So basically for an inventory I ended up looking at the picture and matching the parts to it and hoping I had them all and that they were right. Fortunately WOL has a write up on the FT 3" Ultimate lift on Project JK and I was able to use that to help clarify some of the questions I had on the install procedures.

2. I didnt read far enough into the description when I purchased the kit. The FT website and Northridge both say " will fit 35" tires with recommended wheels and backspacing" but I didnt realize this meant stock wheels and tires will not work because they will rub on the rear . This is my bad for not reading far enough into it but I thought it should be put out there. Anyways I had to put the stock rear links back on and I couldnt use the rear upper adjustable control arms since they rubbed on the wheels/tires so they had to be swapped back out. Moneys tight right now but I intend to pick up some wheel spacers soon and this should make it so that I can finish the lift.

3. Havent tried it off road yet but on the road I cant believe how much smoother the ride is. I dont know if this is from the new springs or the Bilsteins but it feels much better. Hopefully I will be able to get the wheel spacers soon so that I can get it twisted up but Im afraid to do it right now as I dont know what will happen with the stock SB links in the rear.

Anyways I hope this helps if your looking at this kit.

I also use the FT on my jeeps, superior lifts. I recently converted my 08 to the FT SRS arms and will do same to the other 2 soon.

FT doesn't do a very good job on their install pack (and personally I think their tech guy is a cocky dude) but WOL has put together an awesome write-up for installers.

I got it out for a little drive on the highway today. This lift replaced a TF puck leveling kit. Anyways I notice the Jeep seems to stay straiter when you hit big bumps. It felt like the ass end was kicking out to the side before. Im guessing its due to the geometry of the new track bars. So far so good. Im not sure but I think I may have gained more than 3" of lift from it. I need to get out the tape measure and check it. I just dont feel like crawling under there anymore this weekend
