FT 3" Ultimate and Squeeks

washed the jk after coming back from the trip and the very next day the entire suspension is literally screaming every nut and bolt
Took it to the workship got it greased was told two upper rear control arms grease zerks were missing after spending 400 bucks :eek2:just to grease and stop the squeek it is still screaming nothing changed

taking it to some other place tomorrow for another session of squeaking is there something i can do to stop the squeaking permanently i am very frsutarted about these squeeks

This seems to be an ongoing concern. One of the reasons I am looking somewhere elsewhere.

May be you are right... Mind you this is the third time i am taking my jeep for greasing. the workshop only sells FT lifts and the do have all the instructions of how to install or grease the thing. White lithium grease has been thoroughly used on every joint , torqued according to specifications but it is squeeking so much that it is now embaracing to drive dont know what happened and its not only from one specific side it from every where from the rear end

can we change to some really good quality bushings

People using FT 3" ultimate............ what are you guys doing with the suspension squeek problems.

After coming back from a a muddy track washed the jeep and guess what squeek has returned. I was very careful this time when washing not to spray water on the joints but some how the squeek is back again. :banghead::banghead:

Is there any solution to this. The actual squeek comes from the rear upper and lower adjustbale control arms. Is this the bushings inside???

I have greased again to the max but looks like i have to take both rear upper and lower control arms and grease from inside:sad2:

I am think of some kind of rubber boots to be bolted on each joint

Any help or advise would be really appreciated.

you spent $400 on someone to greese your jeep? You probley got muddy water in the rubber bushing.

Did they check the nuts and bolts, and tighten them back up? I have 20,000 miles on mine and not a noise at all. Tighten and greese it up yourself,

that way you know its been done.

Did they replace the zerk fittings? What greese are they using in the joints with Zerk fittings?

JK07 May 10, 2008 05:05 AM

not sure what type of grease they have used but accoridng to them it was top aeroplane grade grease. not sure if they have replaced the zerks.

As I said earlier i know exactly where the noise is coming from its the upper rear adjustable control arm. I have greased it myself to the max but is still squeaking. the last time they took off all the control arms and refitted.

I dont want to do this exercise everytime i hit a muddy trail.

Is there any thing i can cover these joints with some kind of rubber boots???

hey piginajeep what is the best way to remove the rear upper control arm. I found it very difficult to pull the bolt out??

Are you positive it's not the trackbars? they are a bitch if not greased properly.
you should'nt need pull the arms to greese them. But the passenger side upper,
is just a pain to get back in, it should be easy to remove..

I would check and see if they replaced the zerks, if they did'nt. I don't see how it was greased properly

Nope its definately the rear upper control arm. I have greased it to max but it is still squeeking. It is torqued to max also. the only option left is to take it out clean it grease it and put it back. And yes it is passenger side :D

i just dont want this to be an on going issue looking for a long term fix
