Full Belly Skid Options (Artec vs MetalCloak
Previously had JCR skids, but dented up my transfer case skid so much that I ripped a hole in my T-Case.
Good news is it gave me an excuse to upgrade to an Atlas 4.
Bad news is, now I need to drop money into new skids, and want to go for a full belly skid system with crossmember.
Besides my gas tank skid looks like its been through a nuclear war.
Torn between Artec Aluminum and MetalCloak Steel.
I think our Idaho rocks and my inability to pick better lines might be too much for the Artec Aluminum, so I am leaning towards the Metalcloak system. Supposedly steel slides much better than aluminum when Im being winched off of the trail that I should of just bypassed.
Note: I know Rockhard is good, but I want something that offers that full belly coverage over the T-Case.
Open to suggestions, critique, insults and offers of free beer.

From what I see you might want to go custom. Build some xtra supports and do some modular plates that are easy to handle and cost less to replace when you wear them out or use AR500 for the actual skids. I actually built an entire subframe for my suspension to mount to as well as extra support under the jeep and have minimal plating just where it is needed. I also designed it so I can pull the clutch out without disconnecting any suspension. You can see it here starting on post 575 The time has come.....TheDirtmans level 4 build...Ha!...ha!....ha!...cough!...cough! - Page 58

A custom system is beyond me... I inspect welds for a living... yet ironically have zero skills in welding.I also have a fantasy someday of selling it on to a nice mall crawler family.
