There are 2 buttons on the display behind the steering wheel where the speedometer and everything is. Push the button on the right until the eco mode comes out. When you're not driving efficiently it will just say 'Eco', if you're driving like you're 85, it will say 'Eco On'.

I'm assuming it works the same on a standard as it does on my auto...

I was at 17mpg totally stock. then i did 33" BFG muds; 2½ lift...and was getting 14.5-15mpg....... i did the Diablo 87 octane tune and aired up the tires...back to 16.5 average. I drive about 24k/year for my job and this just was not working... But the best thing i did was lease a honda fit that i'm getting 34mpg+

Get a bicycle.

I can get 18 to 22 with my 07 auto 2 dr. I use standard size 245X75 tires and run them at 35 psi. I rarely drive over 60mph and accelerate slowly. Driving less than 60mph is the most effective gas saving technology you can have, cost nothing, get off the freaking gas pedal.

I realize most of you fellows do not recall the national 55mph speed limit that was imposed to reduce fuel consumption after the first oil embargo? It works, slow the h--- down. Of course, I am not for revisiting the guberment imposed draconian double nickel because if I can afford it or need to, let me goooooo!!!!! But, most of the time, slowing down for short trips cost very little in time and saves a ton in fuel not to mention reduced wear and tear on the vehicles.

I really found keeping the speed down on longer highway trips makes a big difference. I recently did a 400+ mile trip pulling my 5x10 utility trailer with a dirtbike on it and averaged 16.5. 2.5" lift, 4.10's, and 33" toyo mt's. I kept the speed under 70. Usually I was somewhere between 65-70, even in the areas where the limit was 75-80. I just parked it in the right hand lane and cruised along.

I will be taking a longer trip this month minus the trailer and now with Duratracs, I look forward to seeing what kind of mileage I can get. The duratracs are 20+ lbs each lighter and that should offer significant weight savings on the rolling resistance and the tread is much more friendly. I just put fresh Mobile 1 in the rear diff and hopefully that will help too.
