Gears or Fun Stuff for the Jeep 2K?

Whats up guys. I have a 2011 JKU with a manual 6spd and currently run 373s. I have 35s and run a 30/40 danas. I pull a trailer and live in Oregon. I havent found the gearing to be horrible. It would be nice to have some more power but dont know if I will find it in gearing. Are the gears really worth it? I am looking at 488s. I have about 2k to spend. I am trying to decide to go with gears or get a 40'' Rigid LED and an MBRP exhaust. I have an AEV snorkel, K&N filter and Diablo tuner already. If anyone can chime in that would be great. Here is a pic of the light and a pic of the Jeep

I re-geared not to long ago and it was worth it. I'm sure you can find someone in your area that would do the whole thing for around 1k. I've heard a few guys on here say there are special shops in the northwest area that do it for that price. That leaves with another 1k so that should definitely get you some more mods. I paid about 1,400 all said and done for my gears and labor. 4WS.com has killer pricing on gear sets with overhaul kits.

How much do you drive offroad at night? The light bar is going to be there for looks mostly. Why not spend the money on something that will actually improve the performance of your jeep?

Actually we do a lot of night trail riding here in Oregon. I try not to put something on the jeep I wouldn't use.

Well then, since you will be using 'another' light a lot more than the 100% of the time you would be using the new gears, you should get 'another' light.

Regearing doesn't add power. It brings the rpm's up to a much more usable level, and helps compensate for the loss you take from a lift/bigger tires/trailer/etc. This will be much more beneficial than adding 10 or 20 HP from a bolt-on while being under-geared. Only you can decide whether it is worth it or not, but there are a few thousand re-gearing threads on the site to read through for more information and opinions on it.

I have a 2010 6sp (3.8L) and just installed 4.88 gears after a year of driving on my 35s with 3.73. What a difference. You won't regret putting money into new gears.

edit: $1500 for the gears and you'll have $500 left over to go toward lights.
