Go back to LSD, or Wait it out?

Looking for anyone's experience on this. Currently running 3.73 with front Aussie and rear ARB lockers on my 2009 Sahara. I plan on regearing to 4.88, but would need to get a new ARB for my daily driver (they go 3.73 down and 3.92 up). So I'm thinking of trowing back in the rear LSD, but fear rear slippage offroading. Has anybody done this and what has been their experience hard core wheeling with the locked front and the rear with LSD?

I do not believe you need to change your rear ARB when you regear. I am pretty positive you still use the 3.73 and down ARB, part number RD117. I would call up Northridge to confirm.

I also don't believe there's a difference in JK D44's. They are all the "thick ring gear" variant and use the same carrier.

For the front D30, it's the same locker regardles of gears. For the rear D44, 30 splines, you get a locker for 3.73 and down, and another for 3.92 and up:

ARB Air Locker Dana 44 30 Spline 3.73 & Down (RD117)

ARB Air Locker Dana 44 30 Spline 3.92 & Up (RD116)

So, if I were to re-gear from 3.73 to 4.88, I would need a new ARB also...

WRONG!!!! David (from whom I bought my lockers some time ago) just clarified that I'm good to go with the RD117. The difference has to due to the carrier as such and the gear thinkess.

You would actually still use the RD117 (3.73 and down) since it is the only one for the thick ring gear for JKs. JKs don't use the RD116 with standard ring gear. The RD116 would be used for a bronco or some other standard ring gear D44.

I only know because I am in the same situation. I regeared my non rubi JKU to 4.56, and verified and reverified that I need to have the RD117 in the rear. You can give Northridge a call to confirm. They sell a bunch of locker and regear packages, and are very knowledgeable. They also confirmed this with me.
