Good lil stick welder..... Used it today for the first time.... First time I welded since 2001 so don't be too critical on me! Lol I got my dad a AllPro IFS skid plate for his 06 Toyota Tacoma TRD for Christmas and installed it today.... Well two sub frame pieces had to be removed so I had some steel to play with now.... So I welded them together.... I know I need to practice a lot more but how's it look?
I think the inside came out better
I know I shoulda went back over this side.... As u can see this is where I started lol

I'm certified to weld on Aircraft and aircraft ground support equipment. We only use Miller products. If I could afford one for my garage I would get one. But I'm not a fan of Arc welders I like MIG or TIG. I feel like I have more control TIG though. But for the house if a 110 works for you then thats great!
Question's though how many amps does that arc welder pull? Were you throwing breakers when you were laying the bead down? Also was it hot enough to get penetration? If you don't get that the weld will snap at the first sign of stress.

After taking a look at the pictures and the bead. I would not put that on my Jeep it looks like it did not get hot enough. I would get some scraps and practice laying a bead down arc welds do a figure 8 and try to get it to look like a stack of dimes.
Go with the $169 220V deal I think it will work out better for you.

I saw one a last month at harbor freight for $169 I cant find it now must have been a black-friday or holiday special. Here is a good one more than you want to spend though but a good deal.
Hobart 500420 Stickmate 225 Amp, Stick Welder, 230 Volt Ac Welder | Toolfetch
I love Miller but I cant justify spending 600+ bucks on a base model if I was just messing around at the house.

^^^^^^ Did you too have to sit through hours of 1970's corny Hobart school of welding videos too? Classroom time always sucks. Lab time is where you learn the most. I still have my test plates with X-rays from school after all these years.
