Default Grease for rod ends

In a lot of the pictures I see some funky colored grease (pink and green) coming out of peoples zerks. I'm just using plain old brown grease in my grease gun. I'm curious if people are using something special for their rod ends and I'm an idiot. We'll we know I'm an idiot but specificially in relation to the grease question.

I bought a tube of valvoline synthetic awhile back and I can tell it's gonna last a good while. I don't know what's best. Probably as long as they're greased good and regular it don't matter.
