I am facing handling issues with my Jeep JK after installing the following parts:
- RPM Steering 1.5 ton tie rod and draglink
-Dynatrac prosteer ball joints
- Metalcloak Adjustable front and rear track bars
- Synergy 2" coils - installed to replace the sagging AEV 2.5" coils
-Rocksport steering stabilizer
After installing the parts, the car started to sway/swing on the high way, traction comes on more frequently now and specially on the curved roads when exiting the high way. Prior to installing the parts i never had traction issues on a dry road, infact the traction never came on a dry road prior to installing the parts. I took the car back to the shop which has installed the parts and they confirmed that the track bars bolts are tight, the lower ball joints came loose and they have fixed that. The ride quality slightly improved however, its not close to how it drove prior to installing the parts.
Any thoughts what could be causing the handling and traction issue?
The following are the other parts which i have on the car:
-BP51 shocks
- front and rear Adams driveshaft
- I had AEV 2.5" lift kit however, i have recently replaced the coils to Synergy.
the lower ball joints came loose and they have fixed that.
I'm not sure how this just happens. IMO, it sounds like they didn't have the lower BJs torqued to start with. Those don't just "come loose" with a little normal driving ya know.
Has the traction control ever triggered bad enough to leave the light on or are you just getting quick flashes of the light? The only thing triggering that would be something the speed sensors are picking up an inconsistency from what it thinks it should be. That could be an issue with the actual sensor or it could be something bearing-related that is affecting how the tone ring is rotating around the sensor maybe. Do you have a scanner that can read ABS codes? I'm guessing nothing is being triggered enough to store a code but if there is something there it should point you to which corner of the jeep to be looking at.
Is your steering wheel centered when driving straight? If it is way off that will throw the computer off and make traction control come on in certain situations. Have you had the Jeep aligned since having the components installed? If so post a pic of the alignment sheet.

The traction comes on and restricts the steering movement. I have a scanner and today i will scan the PCM to see if it through any codes. I will get the bearings checked but i doubt i have bearing related issues as the car does not vibrates or whinnes.

The steering is centered and aligned, i have took the car for alignment immediatly after installing the parts since the steering was slightly off. Unfortunately i did not take the alignment print out from the shop. I am planning to take the car to a different shop to check if all parts are installed properly and also check on the geometry.
Yesterday i took the car to another workshop to go through the recently installed parts by the other shop and they have confirmed that tie rod, drag link, ball joints and both track bars are installed properly and they are tight. The workshop tested the car and they though the body wobble created from turning left/right or the opposite is abnormal.
At this stage the mechanic is not sure what is the cause of the problem however, he suggested to switch back the OEM drag link and see if it solves the problem.
Any thoughts on the above before i start installing back the OEM parts?
Can you take some pictures of everything in the front and rear suspension/axle setups in addition to steering? That caster is as low as we see..... 2.2° is crazy low. That is more like something you'd see with a 4.5" spring, not a 2.5".
That is one ugly alignment sheet, based on the camber either the left ball joint is screwed or the left C is bent. And as Resharp and sixty4x4 said the Caster is way to low.
