Default have a noob question about lifts

hey all, just ordered my 3.5 rock krawler max travel lift. my question is what are bump stops, i know they stop bumps, but i mean what is the point in upgrading them, why would i need bigger bump stops wouldnt it limit the amount of travel?

Bump stops limit the upward travel of the axle to keep yours shocks from bottoming out and your tire out of the fender. They have to be the correct height to do both. Just because your tire can't get to the fender doesn't mean you can't damage a shock.

The space between your axle and "frame" or frame mount is greater. The shock will also be longer. It prevents the axle from coming up way too much and blowing out your shocks. Get them. Easy to install, inexpensive and well worth the nominal hassle.

You can see the white stop (upper) and the black puck (lower) inside the spring on the front and the white bumper on the top in the rear and the metal square stop on the lower.
