Default Hemi Conversion water pump

2008 JKU Rubi with an AEV kit 5,7 out of a 2008 Commander.

Blew all the coolant out of the water pump, looks like through the seal on the pulley shaft. Going to change the pump, hopefully not to tricky with that monster in there.

Is there anything I should consider as a cause other than simply a failed seal on the pump? Is this a symptom of anything more serious I should think about or check? I've had lots of issues with vehicles in the past but this is the first water pump I have had go. I just want to cover my bases.

I've never had that problem before but i have replaced many water pumps before due to regular maintenance. Its rather easy, just remember to clean the area where the gasket goes really good after you remove the old pump. I have always used honda bond (rtv) never had issues, its a nice gray that matches the water pump.
