Default Here's My CB and Antennae Mount

Wasn't too crazy about relying on the plastic license plate cover only to support the antennae, so I added the bracket to the outside. I will more than likely paint it black at some point to blend in better. If you take the license plate bracket and tail light off, you can get easy access to run the cable through the factory grommet, then run it up around the roll bar, under the padding, down along the front side of the door (fits right under the plastic molding. I mounted my cb to the drivers side of the floor console, using the existing bolt already there and just used a cig lighter adapter for power. The only holes I had to drill were in the license plate cover, everything else is hidden and no new holes inside, plus it's out of the way and easily accessed.

omg. careful with the refueling + taking pictures. cameras create an electrical spark that could ignite...yadda yadda yadda. same goes for cell phones when they receive a call.

good job on the CB though

I figured someone would point that out (refueling and taking pics). I know I shouldn't, but as crazy as my schedules been lately, I have to multi-task in order to get anything done!

Looks good. Is your antenna mount grounded? Or is it just mounted to the plastic? For proper transmission it will need to be grounded to the body or frame.

yeah, all I did was run a wire from one of the bolts holding the antennae bracket, to one of the license plate bracket mount screws going into the body, for grounding purposes. Seems to be working ok, with a quick test, but I haven't tried anything long range yet.

You're joking right?

If not check out mythbusters.

It took something more akin to a taser arc to light gas fumes when they visited this one.

I watched this video several times but I can not see the taser.

She's wearing like a wool sweater! The amount of static she is building up on her way to the pump (you can see her messing with it) is definatly enough to cause an arc!

Mythbusters kicks so much @$$
