For those with the 3.8L, this will virtually eliminate under-hood heat issues. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...trofit-235132/

This option may be available for the 3.6L people. One would have to look into it with a 2012 or later parts book.

I also fitted the foam thing from the 2.8 diesel onto the intake of my 3.8 (fits perfectly) which is used to reduce intake temps on the 2.8 which is turbo charged. With my setup it made exactly 1 degree Celsius difference. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to reduce intake temps as am in a hot climate and have a supercharged 3.8.

The real difficult issue to solve is heat soak. I have the stock intake. On the highway my intake temps are 6-9 degrees Celsius above ambient. When stopped or moving slowly this rises quickly to 30-40 degrees above ambient. Even with the vent fan running this happened. It would seem to truly reduce underhood temps you need to lose the hood.

I have 3 daystar vents in the stock hood. I suspect removing the sound deadening blanket would help alot as the top of the hood is usually quite cool but it is hot underneath. Just worried I will burn the paint.

Look forward to seeing how you get on. It may make me start the project over.
Some models didn't even come with the sound deadening under the hood. I pulled mine off to install my PSC Hood and never reinstalled, no issues. I can see the heat rising from the vents at idle, it made a significant difference in under hood temps but I have no way to check IAT. I am running a Ripp and dont think the mechanical fan would play nice with my intercooler piping and possibly the supercharger bracketry.

Would be great but I have a bunch of supercharger stuff in the way... Looked at it but it will not fit.
