Default How much power loss with 37s??

Hello All... i been looking and reading around to find my answer but no luck on this one...

Im about to start modifying my Auto JK 4door, I really want to go with 37" tires and the Enforcer EVO 4" lift but am wondering how much slower is the Jeep gonna be? Is it unbareably slow or what? Shall i regear right away? what gears 5.13 or 5.38?

My Jeep wont be rock crawling... if anything itll hit some sand dunes every now and then just for kicks. So shes a daily driver toy.

Any and all info is well appreciated.

Thanx in advance

Go to 5.38 for Gears. You be slow coming up to speed on the highway if you do not.
If you have something less than a D44 up front, you might have to make changes to accommodate the new gears.

yeah, if you're not gonna be playing too hard or on the rocks, 5.38's is the gear ratio i would go with. you can get by on the factory 4.10's but, you will feel quite a bit of power loss.

Bin running 5.13 and 35" for over a year and did not like the performance much. Installed superchips and performed better then stock with the 32". Finally upgraded to 37" last month and i cant tell the difference from the 35" to the 37". Still runs better the stock on 32". The tuner made a world of a difference for me .

I was VERY worried about this also. I have stock 4.10s and put on 37's. Its really not that bad, I'm still planning a regear, but fully loaded 4 door on a 3 hour drive to glamis was not nearly as bad is I thought it would be. I want 5.38s, but think I'm going to get 5.13s due to the fact I wheel hard and don't want to blow the diff. Stock gears in the sand with 37s suck though!

I have a 4 door auto 4" lift 37s with 410s. It's horrid, I mean you can still drive the vehicle I have been for close to a year, I have basically turned the tranny into a 3 speed as overdrive just lags out and causes a downshift and if you have any elevation - 1000+ your screwed - do gears asap

Ok so the gears seem like a must!

Omar i was torn between the 35 and 37... but hearing there no noticable difference between both is a very good thing to hear.

Leaves me to find out 5.13 or 5.38

Lets hear more opinions and advice please.

5.38 seem to be the winning choice. Although like i said.. i wont be doing any rock crawling.
The things id be doing at the most is going on some dunes or towing my boat around and up n down the slip ramp.

Thank you fellaz for all the input

If anyone has anything to add please do..
