Default How strong D-rings should I get?

I purchased the arb 17800lb snatch strap. The store a bought it form also told me to get some 4 3/4 ton D-ring shackles. I want to check with you guys to make sure that those are strong enough. If something breaks i do not want it to be the D-ring because it will become a projectile. I also wheel with a long bed dodge ram from time to time so I might need to pull him out or have him pull me out. Thanks for any help.

3/4" is what i think they were trying to say and, that would be correct.

the pin is probably going to be your limiting factor
tabs on the bumper will only except up to 3/4 inch in most that I know of

2000 lbs = 1 ton

crosby was mentioned and they make the nice strap savers if these are not specifically for you bumbers otherwise there are quite a few 3/4 rated well above your pulling capacity

On the receipt it said 3/4 d-ring with a load rating of 4 and 3/4 tons. That is plenty for the jeep, and hopefully for the dodge. Thanks for your help

D-rings can hold way more than they are rated for I've used those size d-rings to pull around a 60,000 pound drill rig numerous times and the only thing that I've had break are numerous chains and straps
