How wide of a rim with 35 x 12.50?
 

Just wondering how wide i should go with 35 x 12.5's. Is 9 to wide is 8 just right and could youplease postpics so i could see the way they look on the jk's! thanks

i am running 17x9 wheels wih my 35's. i like how they look but would ruthfully like maybe a hair wider stance.

for 12.50's, i typlically recommend 8" as it will give you a nice tight bead when aired down. however, 9" isn't too bad and if you find a wheel that you like and it only comes in that size, i'd say to just get it :yup:

I have always used 8's. The downside is that the center of the tire wears down a bit faster than the outside. Its also important to run the air pressure right (ie: A bit lower than normal). 10" wide wheels offer a wider stance, but you will blow a bead pretty eaisly when aired down.

Agreed... if you want to air down... 8" is the best...

I have my 35 x 12.5 Toyo's on 17x9 rims. They do fine for me. Have aired them down to 10 lbs. with no problems. if you wanted to go lower pressure than that, you probably would do better with 8" (or beadlocks).

last question then ill leave this alone. With a 17 x 9 steel wheel on 35's does the jk handle and brake poorily. What will be my advantages to going with a aluminum wheel. And is it enough of an advantage to spend the extra money?

I run 8.5 inches wide.
