I bought the AirRaid CAI... HATE IT!

Sure it growls and grunts a lot more (also have the MBRP exhaust.) However, I laugh with disappointment when getting up to speed. It like hearing a roaring car hauling ass only to see the vehicle is going slow.

I wasn't sure if I wanted a CAI. But I cant remember the last time I crossed water here in AZ, so that wasn't a factor so I got it.

I wish I would have gone with the AEV Snorkel. The benefits of the cool, clean air from above make sense.

So when you get a snorkel can you use the smooth tube from the CAI to route to the stock box? Wouldn't that help mileage? Maybe the snorkel comes with one I don't know.

I recently put in the River Raider and got the hard line option...aluminum tube that goes straight from snorkel to the air box...the whole thing has improved my mpg's by almost 2mpg...I'm happy and hope that when i do encounter deep water next i will be safe...we hope!

Default River Raider?

I'm thinking of going with the River Raider Expedition Snorkel. I'm understanding this as, I should get the same effect from that as the scoop types, right? it's just the fresh air coming in that gives you the increase, not nessacarrily the "push" from the scoop?

I'm new to this so I'm learning from reading all the threads on it...

Thanks

Any one have experience with the Mopar snorkel compared to others.

I can get a nice discount on it since I am an employee. Wondering if the savings it worth it or not.

RubiDude...

Did you run it to the stock air box, or add a drop in filter? If so what kind? Thanks

Rugged ridge is releasing one here in a couple of months that is awesome. Check out in the sponsor forums. Aev makes a nice one, as does safari. River raider and wild boar both make ones that I personally don't really care for.
