What a pain!!! Bought Hypertech 52001 for my 08' JK in October because
4x4 Parts said it would work. Not so. Back then I called Hypertech and they
told me to take it back, 3.8 engine not yet available.
So.....saw the ad in 4x4Parts "magazine" first of Feb. Went and bought.
Did not work!!! I have called Hypertech 3 times and "your call will be answered in 5 minutes" Not true. Each time I waited more than 20 minutes.
Each time I was given advice to make the update.
Never worked, "not programed to your engine at this time, leave your e-mail and we will notify you when it is available".
Taking it back tomorrow. I can NOT recommend this product.

Just installed the Hypertech program on my JK this morning. I ended up pulling 3 fuses to the satellite radio and clock (M13 was the extra, from what I remember).

Until I pulled the M13 fuse, I kept getting "error code 7E- wormcode failure" which, according to the Hypertech customer service guy, was a communication error meaning there was something drawing power (radio, charger, etc). I figured it to be the clock.

It took about fifteen minutes for the computer to read the JK, then another ten or so to write the files back.

I drove it around the neighborhood to make sure it ran fine, and I'll take it out on the highway tomorrow. My JK sounded quieter at idle and appeared to "lug" less at lower gears when I shifted.

When you first plug in the unit and select "install hypertech programming," the first option should be premium fuel or regular. Are you not getting that message?

I didn't get one for the RPM limiter.

Did you adjust the tire size. What about the HP & Torque gains thats what i am more interested about. I hope we all not have wasted 400 bucks on this thing. please let us know the power results.

I did not adjust the tire size and I didn't mess with the cooling fan. I stayed with regular unleaded gasoline.

There is an appreciable difference in feel while driving. I have a 6-speed standard and the engine is running smoother. My calculated milage went from 16.4mpg to 18.9mpg on the computer (FWIW, only time will tell).

I like it already. I'll run it out on the highway tomorrow... if we don't get the snow that we're expecting, that is!

I am having problems installing the hypertech. But....will keep trying when I hear about the
increase of mpg and power. Interesting to note that the fuses needed to be pulled. If possible
can we get the details on the fuses? Thanks
