I would expect a fee if you simply didn't want it after ordering. The damn credit card companies take 2-3% of the original purchase value (including freight) AND take 2-3% of the total from the vendor when the vendor gives you credit back. Vendor would be out 4-6% of the order if you simply "didn't want it"
...BUT seeing that the unit totally will not work for the application, and is not being advertised correctly, I would expect to get everything back except for maybe the return freight to send it back.

Search back a couple of weeks ago and you'll find a thread on the Max Energy from Hypertech. I as well as many others bought the Max Energy recently and found out the hard way that it did not work. Was directed to unplug fuses from fuse block and all kinds of crap only to have a guy at Hypertech say it does not work for JK but they should have one next spring or so. If they are saying anything otherwise I would be suspicious that they want the sales this time of year. I would wait until plenty of others had bought them and had success until I blew 400. I was also directed to do the upgrade online which did NOTHING. I was very unhappy with 4WD on this subject as well. If your going to market something and sell it for a profit then you need to know your sh_- IMHO. Just my two cents.
I'm sorry that you were mislead and purchased a Max Energy 52001 for your Jeep JK. This was caused by a little bit of confusion surrounding the part number. You see the Max Energy for the JK 3.8 is going to have the same part number as the 06 Hemi Ram, 05-06 Hemi Durango/Grand Cherokee/Commander. So vendors have had the 52001 in stock, but many failed to realize that they wouldn’t work on the JK 3.8 until they were updated. Well since the tune for the JK hasn't finished testing as of today it hasn't been released. Hypertech will never release a product before it is ready and even if that means missing potential sales.
Hey - is the Hypertech going to work on X models?
I heard a nasty rumor it would not...?
Also - this does re-calibrating of speedo/odo, gears? reads and resets DTC's, as wel as the tuning functions?

Something I heard...MIGHT be the stealerships and speedo flashing....rather than a HyperTech issue...but, I figure I have a horses mouth here...I'd let HIM clarify whatever needs it.

We'll I was able to get my $40 back. I had to call 3 times before some was about to help me. I talked to 2 guys and they said shipping is a service and is not refundable. The third person I talked to was Kim, She understood the problem and was happy to make it right. If anyone has trouble returning this for a full refund get Kim at ext.890

So, is this a real problem, or, is this just an early prototype bug, like the ones that are preventing the accupro from being officially issued for the JK, etc?
Not sure, but I bought an Accu pro and it DID NOT work on my X. Hypertech could not get it to work either. I finally returned it about a month ago.
